Entry Averaging Calculator
Enter your existing position size and average price, then add new purchase details to instantly see your updated average entry, total units held, and total cost.
How This Tool Works
This tool calculates your new average entry price after adding to an existing position — averaging down into a dip or averaging up into strength.
New Average Entry = Total Cost ÷ Total Units
Total Cost = (Existing Units × Existing Avg Price) + (New Units × New Price)
For example: 0.5 BTC at $90,000 + 0.3 BTC at $70,000 = $66,000 total cost ÷ 0.8 BTC = $82,500 new average entry.
Only average down on positions where your original investment thesis is intact — never add to a losing trade just to feel better about the loss.
